EU-Jobrotation International Association

The EU-Jobrotation International Association promotes and underpins the activities of organisations and companies working with the development, mainstreaming and implementation of the Jobrotation method as a tool for business development, lifelong learning and active labour market policy.

Established in October 2000 in Amsterdam by 29 organisations from 14 European countries EUJobrotation International Association today serves a membership of 44 members and subscribers throughout EU-member states and candidate countries.

The EU-Jobrotation International Association has grown out of a transnational partnership under the community initiative ADAPT, which has repeatedly been evaluated and benchmarked as an excellent example of best practice in terms of transnational co-operation and joint development.

The association was formed to provide a European supranational platform in order to promote a process of continuous Know-how transfer and exchange on Jobrotation, which is considered to be crucial to allow decision makers and actors to benefit from the experience and expertise gathered during the past six years.


Jobrotation is an innovative instrument of active labour market policies and lifelong learning combining training and employment for both employees and unemployed.

The principle of jobrotation is simple: employees participate in further training and during this period are substituted by unemployed person trained to take over their duties. Jobrotation is always tailored to the local needs

Enhancing companies' capacity to engage their workers in continuing training and offering a new start to unemployed people jobrotation in a intelligent way links the interests of employer, employee and unemployed person, in a positive and cost effective way for all concerned.

Objectives

The EU Jobrotation International Association as European association based on the Belgian law promotes and underpins know-how transfer, exchanges, consulting and the implementation of joint projects among its member organisations as well as the development and improvement of vocational training, adult education and the (re-) integration into the labour market, particularly of unemployed people and those in danger of exclusion from social, cultural and economic life, so as to ensure a better qualified workforce, personnel and business development, and full employment.

To achieve its goals, EU-Jobrotation International Association organises seminars and conferences, directs studies, trainings, consultations, and publications, launches information campaigns, and carries out other types of work of European interest in collaboration with institutions and organisations.

The Association's key activities concentrate on three main fields:
1. European Jobrotation School, including Virtual Learning Center
2. Mainstreaming policies including different platforms for joint projects within the European Equal Initiative
3. A wide range of services and consultation offers for members and external organisations
According to the statutes based on the European Association under Belgian law the members of the Association elects a Steering Committee of five representatives (the present Chair is Robert Morrall, Career Design International, UK) and the Secretariat. The present Secretariat and the headquarters of the Association is located at the member organisation EU-Jobrotation Ltd. from Aalborg, Denmark.
